BREC SOCCER FIELDS
United Aerial had the pleasure of working Baton Rouge's BREC organization to demonstrate the advancements of turf management and drone technology. Our goal was to quickly scan BREC's soccer fields to build them a NDVI (normalized difference vegetation index) analysis that accurately illustrates any stress the fields may be experiencing. In just under one hour of flight time and processing we were able help both the organization and the grounds crew build a better plan for their resources, time, and labor.
Our drone captured 36 high resolution images, from 200 feet in the air, each one detailing the fields conditions down to a cenitmeter of accuracy.
Once we obtained the necessary imagery for our work, we were then able to begin processing the information to produce orthomosaics, NDVI analysis, and much more.
In just a few short minutes we were able to cover over 16 acres of park to produce a high resolution map with incredible detail and accuracy. This map allowed organization heads to review the park's condition remotely from their office across the city, giving way to a more efficient use of their time and park resources.
Near Difference Vegetation Index
With these same images, we were able to run a NDVI analysis on the fields, giving us an incredibly visual representation of the fields condition. With this information, BREC can now assess any stress the field may be experiencing and plan a well coordinated use of their time, resources, and materials, all to better the conditions for the citizens.
